"Yes, but there's something else that I can't quite put my finger on..." Sometimes, talking just doesn't paint the whole picture of how you're feeling or what is going on. That's where expressive arts therapy comes in.
Expressive arts therapy is, contrary to the name, not really about the art! You seriously don't have to be an artist for expressive arts therapy to help. It can help you process things with or without talking--just the simple act of creating something that connects to how you're experiencing something can have significant benefits. It can help you explore your own self and connect with your intuition, as well as gain awareness regarding your nonverbal experiences which we all have (but most of us are not aware of them and how they impact our day-to day lives).
If you have ever felt like something was just incomplete from a conversation, or been curious about integrating the two sides of your brain to work together to help increase your ability to handle challenges, or wanted to just connect with yourself and allow that connection to help heal and free you, expressive arts therapy might be a good option for you to explore as something to deepen your therapeutic experience.
Please get in touch with me. I invite you to ask as many questions as you need to see if you think we will be a good fit for one another.
